Proper attire is required for all N'ertia Dance Company classes. Dress code ensures safety, allows instructors to observe alignment and technique, and prepares dancers for a professional studio environment. Please review the requirements for each discipline below.

Dress code by discipline

Acro / Flexibility

  • Biker Shorts, Dance Leggings, Sports Bra or Leotard
  • No Booty Shorts, Tights, T-shirts or baggy clothing allowed
  • Bare feet
  • Hair pulled away from face tightly
  • NO JEWELRY

Ballet

  • Black Leotard of any style
  • Pink Dance Tights
  • Pink Canvas Ballet Shoes
  • Hair in a tight high bun (if hair is too short, pin all pieces away from face tightly)
  • NO JEWELRY

Body Conditioning

  • Any tight fitting dance wear such as a Leotard, Sports Bra, Dance Shorts, Dance Capris, Jazz Pants, etc.
  • Athletic shoes, towel or Yoga mat & water
  • Hair pulled away from face tightly

Contemporary

  • Any tight fitting dance wear such as a Leotard, Sports Bra, Dance Shorts, Dance Capris, Jazz Pants, etc.
  • Jazz Shoes in black or nude, Modern shoes, or nude Foot Undeez
  • Hair pulled away from face tightly
  • Form fitting clothing only, no T-shirts or baggy clothing allowed

General Guidelines

Hair must be pulled away from the face for all classes. Jewelry is not permitted in any class for safety reasons. Students who arrive without proper attire or footwear may be asked to observe rather than participate. Questions about dress code? Contact us before your first class.
